Progress and Priorities – August 1st

We continue to work on the next round of priorities for OpenELIS in Cote d’Ivoire.  Due to vacation schedules and the departure of one of the developers from the team, our development progress has been and will continue to be a bit slower than usual over these few weeks.  We have a new developer that has worked with us on other projects that will be beginning to contribute to OpenELIS starting next week.  However, we remain highly focused on working through the LNSP requirements in order to provide a starting installation for them as quickly as possible.

Last week the team worked on:

  • Recruitment for Implementation Specialist – The job description was finalized and circulated early last week and we have started receiving responses expressing interest.  We will continue to focus on heavy recruiting for this position in order to find a replacement for Laura quickly.
  • LNSP requirements clarification – Justin and Dr. Lathro have been actively sending the team requirements for the LNSP implementation of OpenELIS.  The information has been very useful and we are quickly integrating their feedback into our requirements document.
  • Javascript caching - This is complete and will go out with the next release.
  • Fixing alerts when changing page without saving is now resolved and will go out with the next release.
  • Minor Bug Fixes  - the javascript and css code was improved to make the user interface more efficient.

This week, we will focus on:

  • Data Export Issues – working with Justin to understand and fix the issues Babette has seen with the data export
  • LNSP OpenELIS Requirements – Getting closer!  Working through requirements feedback from CI LNSP OpenELIS
  • Follow Up Required Report – this report will be delayed to due to developer schedules
